Hey everyone, I’m Steve Brady the founder of recycledkit.com 

I offer road cyclists a vintage store with a wide range of quality retro bike kit, without the huge price tag. 

I’ve worked in retail shops for around 29 years, 

including five years in the UK Charity Shop sector. 

How this all came about... 

For the last 4 years, I’ve been running my t-shirt store 

‘Recollections’ in Llangollen Wales. 

While I was there, I noticed the massive number of

road cyclists in the area. 

They look fantastic on their bikes. 

All sorts of people of all ages go out and keep fit,

looking awesome. 

Then I thought back about my days in the charity shop, 

where I saw dozens of sport garments being donated

and seeing them going straight in the scrap. 

‘’Why? There’s nothing wrong with them’’ 

There was so much going to rag

because we couldn’t keep up with it all. 

It's such a shame, and because of the sheer volume of clothing coming in.

I wanted to make a real difference and connect with those 

amazing sports people I see out cycling on their bike. 

They set an example for us all.

In Autumn 2023 after 3 years of trialing the cycling kit in my retro store, I started thinking, that I’d quite honestly lost interest in the band merchandise I was selling.

It was mass-produced fast fashion, with countless plastic bags and my heart wasn’t in it anymore. 

By comparison, the cycling gear

was SO much more exciting. 

And I saw the reaction of my customers

seeing all these bike tops they didn’t even know existed  

It was like seeing a kid in a candy store :]

A great range of cycling gear to choose from,

at great pricing,  with somewhere to try it on. 

Ticks a lot of boxes.

By autumn that year we’d reused well over

 1200 unique pieces of retro kit. 

All sorts at random, we’ve seen brands like Rapha, Castelli, dhb, Giant, Pearl Izumi  literally everything comes through.

All through the ages, especially the 90's and 00's 

Jerseys, Bib shorts, gilets, Jackets, Leggings,of all sizes. 

I made a lot of people very happy. All sorts of people. 

Especially with the cost-of-living crisis going on,

this helped a lot of people out.

The world needs more people on bikes.

It's healthy, its better for the environment,

and frankly, people get so much confidence wearing the kit.

It can only be a good thing right?
